May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you’re wonderful, and don’t forget to make some art — write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.

ireland is where i am meant to be.

i am totally speechless. i fell completely in love with ireland and everything about it. i had such an amazing trip with all the girls that i went with. we saw gorgeous, beautiful scenery, met amazing locals, and drank pints and pints of bulmer’s cider and guinness.

my favorite part of the trip was definitely staying in galway and being able to see the cliffs of moher. they were jawdropping gorgeous and totally amazing.  i will come back to galway and live there one day. not to mention how friendly, outgoing, and nice the irish locals were to us.

i dont even know where to start with this trip. we flew into dublin and had already missed our bus transfer to galway due to the plane being delayed. but as i said the irish people are so nice and giving the man let us take the next bus to galway. after we arrived in galway and checked into our hostel, we decided to head out to get a bite to eat.  it was only 10pm and being on spanish time we expected everything to still be open and people be out and about. but no……it gets dark there at like 3 30pm and its so cold that people dont go out late for dinner. so we ended up at supermac’s which is ireland’s version of mcdonald’s. and there we met…martin. martin is this HUGE irish man that seemed to know all of the united states history. it was quite entertaining. oh i cant forget everywhere we went without even saying a word, people knew we were americans. next we ended up at galway’s worst bar (which we didnt find out till the next day when we spoke to some other locals). oh well we still had a blast. the next day we did some sightseeing around galway. and we met william at the king’s head pub. he was also quite interesting since he was “drunk as fuck, and full of fight” at 2 in the afternoon. i will post a couple videos of him that we caught while we spoke with him. later that night we ended up at kelly’s pub where we met our 2 favorite irish guys that were bartenders there at kelly’s. we wrote them spanish notes and left them our numbers and continued on with the night.

then on sunday we went to the cliffs of moher which were freaking amazing! so beautiful, but the weather was horrible. the wind was so bad you couldnt even stand and it was hailing. but it made it all the more adventure of course for us traveling gurlies. after our journey to the cliffs of moher, we met back up with our irish bartender friends and they took us on the best pub crawl of galway. that night made my life. traditional irish pub, with traditional irish music, with traditional irish men, and traditional irish guinness…what more could a girl ask for. anway that monday we had to say goodbye to galway and head to dublin.

dublin is a beautiful city. of course we spent our fair share of time at both the guinness warehouse and the temple bar. unfortunately, we missed our day trip to the wicklow mountains. but that just gives me an excuse to come back to ireland. on our last night after quite a few pints of guinness and cider..we tried to change our flight to stay for three more days, but that didnt quite work out.

i am back here in spain with only 2 weeks left till i return to america. i have no clue what i am going to do with myself. all i know is i wish i was back in a pub in ireland drinking guinness gazing out at the beautiful 40 shades of green.

dia de acion de gracias y mucho mas

so during my stay here in spain, thanksgiving passed by and we definately celebrated spanish style. ISA was nice enough to invite us all to a thansgiving dinner at the fanciest restaurant in malaga!! it was great…we had turkey, something that resembled stuffing, pureed “mashed” potatoes and sweet potatoes, green beans, and unlimited vino!!!! although i missed pretending to wake up early to help dad with stuffing, watching the macy’s thanksgiving parade, the westminster dog show, thanksgiving dinner wtih family, and its a wonderful life movie…i still enjoyed myself. but being away from my family for the first time on thanksgiving was a little tough.

malaga had literally been preparing for a month long of christmas a month before december. finally on saturday there was a huge concert/ceremony and all the christmas lights down calle larios and paseo de parque were lit! it was quite the sight to see. so many children, parents, and people in the streets. locoooooo and we tried to go to casa aranda (best chocolate con churros in town) and ended up getting  a table in the name of luck and had our treat. :]

earlier that day the ISA kids all traveled to cordoba. it was beautiful and we enjoyed ourselves at one of the biggest and most interesting mosques.

im currently listening to christmas music, wishing i had a peppermint mocha to go with it. the holidays are here!! lastly, i need to figure out how to stay warm and dry while im in ireland! estoy muy emocionada para ir a irlanda!! :]
